| | Pastor (and nurse) Leosthene Francois arrived in Buenabite last winter. He is now back in the U.S. raising more financial support and attending the Global Missions Health Conference and the ICOM this November. He’ll be returning to Haiti this December. | Here’s his report on the great work accomplished so far--- | We acquired new property 5 miles south of our previous building. The old building was demolished to make way for widening and paving (hopefully) National Road #3. The foundation was laid, the walls are up, and the congregation has relocated to our new building even though we do not yet have a roof. This building, when complete, will be much larger than our old building and includes a sanctuary, educational center, and first aid/medical room. | We were able to introduce Redemption Church Ministries to every family home in this part of Buenabite. We spoke about the importance of community gathering and the organization we can do together, and also shared the Word of Jesus. | Using the same approach as our “After School Sessions” (upon which our ministry began) that we started in 1983, we are able to meet our community members through their children’s involvement in our outreach. We initiated several new evangelistic programs: revival, evangelization tour, recreational sports teams, medical clinics and English & music instructional classes. | The sports programs are especially successful and we ask for your prayers that God will help us equip the teams, organize our playground and send us missionary coaches. We also need your prayers for English and music instructors to run our training sessions. | Thankfully, we were also able to run two medical clinics in tandem with our sports program and were able to do basic health screening for roughly 300 people. We did 110 adult blood pressure and diabetic screenings and distributed 30-day vitamin supplies to 200 children. We referred 30 adults with more serious issues to the nearest full medical center (in Pignon, a 30 mile one-way trip). | We greatly appreciate you prayers, your support, and your willingness to bring your professional skills to our community as part of a mission team. You bring hope of a better future to our isolated and abandoned community! | | | | | | OR mail your check to World Outreach Ministries PO Box B Marietta GA 300061 | Please put “Leosthene Francois” on the memo line. | | | | | | RCM is an affiliate of World Outreach Ministries, a 501(3)C organization.
