Leosthene G Francois
- Born and raised in Pignon, Haiti.
- Married Annie in 1983.
- Have three children, all grown and on their own, and three grandchildren.
- Currently live and work in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
Education
- Attended school through secondary and technical college. Graduated with licensure to teach in science.
- Enrolled in The Missionary Church Association Seminary, graduating in 1988. Ordained in Buenabite upon graduation.
- In the United States, attended CAPSCARE Academy for Health Education, becoming a licensed practical nurse.
- Currently enrolled at Premier International College, pursuing an Associate of Science in Nursing (RN).
Employment
- Employed by the Haitian Ministry of Education to teach in Buenabite.
- Started an “after school” activity in Brenabite that the community considered a great benefit for their children and themselves. The afterschool sessions included math, reading, Bible verses, histories and Christian songs.
- These students and their parents became the first members of the Evangelical Missionary Church (Now Redemption Church Ministries).

- Employed by the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee in 1987. (The CRWRC is a pioneer international organization in community development. The CRWRC is now World Renew.)
Worked in Pignon and the surrounding communities.
Promoted in 1993 to literacy program coordinator and field assistant director.
History
- Things fell apart in 1996 with the coup d’etat and US military intervention.
- Took refuge in Cap-Haitien due to threats against family.
- Granted political asylum in the United States in 1996, bringing family here two years later.
- For the next 14 years, worked, and did ministry among the Haitian refugee community.
- The situation in Haiti did not allow safe return to Haiti during that time.
- In 2010, started to return annually to Haiti. Using own funds, spent up to three months at a time visiting and evangelizing.
- In December 2018, returning to Haiti permanently to resume full-time ministry in Buenabite.
